Isn't Mepis fantastic. Seems it's only you and me that realise it...
Most KDE users already had a $FAVOURITE_DISTRO long before Mepis hit the
shelves. It's from a private (accounting?) company isn't it?
Yes it seems that way, although I wonder if others have thought that there
have been more Ubuntu related questions on this list than any other distros.
Squeaky wheels calling for oil?..
Is that because it is the most used around here or that it has problems other
distros don't?
..It might not be most, but a goodly proportion. Just a few new /
intermediate / advanced users wanting something vanilla, bulletproof,
manageable, and current.
My only Mepis problem is that after the very quick installation and setup a
new user (for Paula) I think that I will be fighting her for the laptop.
Out of interest, which mail client(s) do you get in Mepis? If
Thunderbird, which version just now? 2 minutes ago I received the latest
one, as released on 27 July & listed below. Like its kernel, fresh
packages are always being offered in Ubuntu - the same bugs as every
system gets, but dealt with v.quickly.
Cheers
