Sorry if I have offeneded you by not answering a previous email. I received several replies to questions, some of these had let me push on with resolution. Others to show I was a bit stuck and that I didn't like the amount of command line time necessary in Ubuntu to get some action. When I then found reviews on net indicating this can be an issue with it, I searched out other recommendations, SUSE popped up as it is a much more windows like experience - as in gui based point and click and go. After all, I guess I'm coming at this from a more consumer point of view, I don't want to know how the magic works - I just want to be able to use some apps (like web browser, word processor, database, apache server and development ide) without having to buy a windows licence. I can learn the 'under the hood' stuff over time later. And sorry if you're peaved that I ditched Ubuntu - I see you appear fond of it, but please don't take that personally - open source is about being free to choose after all. I also see in the Linux field you are very knowledgeable. I did not mean to appear to ignore your wisdom. I hope I haven't burnt any future assistance from yourself since you know your stuff. I will try to stay on top of answers (should flow much easier when the machine I email from is in the same location as the one I'm trying to get support for, or even better, is the one I am trying to get support for). Regards, Bryce Stenberg.
