You could also consider ubuntu as it supports a wide variety of packages
and tends to be more up to date.

Neil Stockbridge wanted to use debian on our mini server array rather than ubuntu, this is the continuing case of 'using what your tech mate is using'.

Also the ubuntu CD's I have don't have all the packages I needed.

This problem will actually go away once we get decent net access at the library.
