LES is also going to be open to the public this year so anyone can bring a machine in to have us help them work on it.

Yes of course it is!
I'd suggest having the Satellite [1] system running somewhere, because we are then not dependent on the vagaries of the DNS system. _BUT_ he has to have a means of connecting to the net from his Linux box first.
