However, with that much data, there are other things to consider: backup, an ups, rackmounting for safety, etc. If you're thinking of storing that much data, then you may well want to mirror the arrays. 1TB disks are now less per GB than 500GB, at about $400, althought 750GB at about $260 are cheaper still. A chieftec case with 6 x 3.5 and 4 x 5.25 inch bays is about $90, A good quality power supply - $150-200 Motherboard with 6 SATA channels, gigabit ethernet, onboard vga, 2GB memory, CPU - $370 DVD writer - $50 5 x 1TB disks - $2000 A bit over 2700+gst ( plus an old disk/cf to run opennas, and a few extra fans for extra cooling) or $2800+ if you decide on 4GB memory. And a dedicated 8 port gigabit switch for about $100. And a 1500VA UPS for about $1000. That's one hell of a mythtv back end you're building there (: -- Steve Holdoway <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
