Ain't it grand? I stepped up from 550 mhz k6-2 to an overclocked 1600xp. What a difference! > I've got a couple of case fans in there > alongside the fans belonging to the various system components. > > I haven't really dealt much with Athlons in the past, so, I ask you, beyond > what temperature should I be getting worried? Don't sweat it. Over here, with my over clocking endeavours, air cooling wasn't a real good option. Far too much fan noise. I finally bit the bucket and went water cooling. However, instead of using a radiator to shed the heat, I opted for a large heat sink in the form of a 5 gallon fish tank. The only noise in my office now is a low swish from the power supply fan. The water pump is noise free... cpu temp never goes over 35c, even on the hotest of days. I guess what I'm saying is... if you're really worried, go water... It works. > David Aikema > > _______________________________________________ > Linux-users mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Unsubscribe/Suspend/Etc -> > http://www.linux-sxs.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-users -- ****************************************************************************** Registered Linux User Number 185956 http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&safe=off&group=linux Join me in chat at #linux-users on irc.freenode.net 8:43pm up 1:10, 2 users, load average: 0.01, 0.00, 0.00 _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe/Suspend/Etc -> http://www.linux-sxs.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
