However, us native Californians have the luxury of not having to know 
about
a)  putting on snow tires just to go get a six pack
b)  snow tires, period
c)  snow, unless by choice
d)  a snow shovel being an integral part of the garage tools
e)  one of those ice scrapers for your front window as a trunk necessity
f)  the probability that your car will rust out in two years.  I 
believe this explains why I never see any cars really worth driving in 
NY
g)  slipping and falling on your butt after buying, but not yet 
consuming, the six pack
h)  corpses that appear in the spring after that big snow drift in 
front of your house melts
i)  anywhere in NY in late August - September.
