Nonsense.  I've never needed snow tires in all the years I drove in the
Northeast.  That's another misconception that Californians have.  Snow
tires won't save your *ss if you don't know how to drive in snow.  I've
driven through blizzards where the road was covered in a foot of snow,
and never lost control of my car (and it wasn't a 4x4 either).

No, just the corpses that get ditched in Oleander bushes on freeway
medians that are discovered each spring when the road crews go to trim
