Now thats not true of all distros as I have experienced. That is exactly why
I said in another mail that quoting your distro means that that one does such 
an such. DVD worked as scsi under Mandrake and I am sure under 2.4 Caldera.In 
Suse they do not so Suse has fiddled with the cdrom designation.
