Hi All

I have made the transition to Linux Mint Debian. I made the machine dual
boot between Mint and Ubuntu L - I didn't really end up with a preference
between the two, I just had more difficulty getting everything working under
Ubuntu.

I still have two issues with Mint with which I wondered if the
intelligentsia here could point me in the right direction (haven't been able
to google it but I may be asking the wrong questions).

First up, I have an external usb WD 1.5Tb hard drive (NTFS for compatibility
unfortunately) that is causing grief. At first, it would just stop the
boot: I would get to the line about populating /udev and it would just stop
and eventually write some error output on the screen and require cycling the
power to start again. Now, if I plug the drive in after booting it also
fails - after a few moments the machine freezes: mouse won't move, no
response from keyboard. Again, you have to cycle the power to get it
running.

I've done everything I can think of but I'm just a long time user, not any
sort of expert!

Second, and I'm reaching here, I'm having difficulty with the bluetooth
connection to my iPhone. I was using BlueProximity to lock my machine when
I left it's proximity. Now I constantly get the connection dropping and
being prompted to reconnect. This may be an iPhone issue rather than Linux
as I upgraded iOS at about the same time I made the switch to Mint but I
can't find anything anywhere on the net about the problem from either side.

Any help, pointers appreciated!

Cheers
Kerry
