Maybe a problem? Anyway, a week later I tried it again and the copy command worked perfectly fine on a 30Gb file. A few days later I did another operation copying from one usb hd to another usb hd both ntfs formatted and it fell over again.... At this point I've given up, I'm installing a different later linux version and see if my life is easier :-) Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Regards, Bryce Stenberg.
