As an alternative to a long Ethernet cable - can you download the few
things you need to get WiFi going on a cellphone, and then copy them
onto the Linux system via USB? I have done that a fair number of times
when I only needed a relatively small download, and it wasn't really
worthwhile finding a long cable...
