Where in Linux? There are programs that are generally considered Linux
programs that implement the full regalia of the Unicode Technical Reports,
and all the other various details that seperate Unicode from ISO 10646.
I don't hear much about the ISO 10646 levels that have no Unicode
equivelents, though.

There's a discussion of the UnicodeData.txt file over on debian-devel
and debian-legal. There are several copies in Debian, in miscfiles, perl
and clisp. Many other programs have data generated from the Unicode
data. As for the license, the conclusion was that it was acceptable. (As
for general opinion, I think it were more along the lines of we need this
file, a couple well-respected people think it's all right, so let's just
leave it along.)

In the most generic sense of the word, yes. But so are Microsoft code
pages. It is not supported by a standards group, whether dedicated
(so, yes, Unicode counts, as does the LFS and other random standards) or
general (i.e. ISO, IETF, ANSI, ECMA, etc.)

I think they are; just as much to the point, I think people are trying
to follow Unicode. Any developer who needs to work with this can put
down $50 for a nice hardcopy of the Unicode standard; any one can read
it online. When I write code, when I make suggestions, when I make
bugreports, I'm doing it based on three sources: www.unicode.org,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and my hardcopy of the Unicode standard. I think
others do the same.
