As for .deb, it's my fault -- I have ITP'd the whole IM-SDK for over half a year now, but I have yet only managed to upload an old version (release 10) to experimental. I'm busy trying out release 11.1 (revision 1279), which just came out this week. Hopefully I'll upload it to unstable before Easter.
