I wonder if you misconfigured during installation, does that sound possible? For example, maybe you tabbed through it and chose a German one which might be Suse's default. Now, how to fix it, for that hopefully, a Suse user can help. :) The Radeon, is that an ATI card? If so, sometimes picking the ATI generic driver can help. I configure with xf86config (or xorgconfig) If you do use that (it's a text based X configurater) ati generic is number 5 when you get to cards. I don't know if any of this helps at all though, I'm not that familiar with Suse--which despite its popularity isn't mentioned that often on this particular list. Horror are you on this list?
