Thanks for the reply. As you can see, I've got the keyboard straight...for now. I did a reinstall, but on the previous one all my config files and all my setups were most definitely for US English keyboard. <shrug> I'm always very careful with keyboard, monitor, and drive settings when I do any install because without those, you're pretty much in the dark.
