I make use of SuSE 9.1 Pro myself. It sounds like you have an incorrect driver installed for your keyboard. Do the following:
Go into the Green SuSE icon on the tookbar (like the Windows Start Button), and go up to "System" and "Yast". Enter the root password to get into the system settings. Click the "System" option on the left side of the screen. On the right side of the screen, you will see the "Select Keyboard Layout" option. You will be able to change general and advanced keyboard settings in there. Bob -----Original Message----- From: Wyatt M. I know my way around a computer pretty well, but am really inexperienced with Linux. I've installed Linux as a dual boot system with Windows a few times with varying problems mostly due to hardware issues, I believe. I just installed SuSe 9.1 Pro and would like to stick with this one if possible. However, I have some new problems I haven't encountered before and it's making my situation very hard to deal with. The biggest problem is that my Dell keyboard won't behave. It doesn't do it all the time in every application, but in this email certain letters come up wrong. I was able to fix it with the spell checker and the mouse, but, for instance, the z and y are backwards. I typed them in correct order, but the y is the z and vice versa. It works perfectly in XP and on all my other computers. Also, the " sign is transposed with the double quote character. I'm also getting international characters. I can't Google very well or easily with this problem. I know there should be an easz fix, but Im confused as to where to look. If zou can help, please dont assume too much. I know there are command line configurations available, but Im not sure which shell to use or how to change them. The second problem is that there appears to be no driver for mz Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card. I searched as much as Im able with the kezboard limitations, but didnt find anzthing useful. I alos cant find a driver for mz Dell E172FPB Flat Panel Displaz. Its working okaz and I set the horiyontal and vertival range, but it complains about the monitor not showing its x and z coordinates on everz boot. If I can fix the kezboard, I can explain better. Ive left the last two paragraphs intact to show the problem. Thez are not tzpos or misspelled words. Thanks WMP To unsubscribe from this list, please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] & you will be removed.
