There are probably a hundred ppl here, who'll give you a way better answer than this... (I'm just a lowly user *g*) All I can really say is that Linux 'does' pretty much the same thing as any other OS like Windows or Mac OS. As for what it's specifically capable of, I guess that depends on which distribution you use. Personally, I use Linux pretty much for everything, (office work, graphics, email etc) except games. Like I said, others here will probably give you a much better answer.
