They're often included in the CD's attached to Linux magazines, in the computer section of your newsagent. I got a couple from 'Linux User & Developer'.
You can also download an image from the net and burn it yourself. There are many 'versions' available. My personal favourite, for a live CD is Knoppix. Try http://www.knoppix.org/ Also, as I'm sure you realize, googling for 'Linux live CD' or something similar will produce a lot of results.
