OK, so there aren't any error lines in the Xorg log. > (WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such file or directory) This is normal and can be ignored. > Fatal server error > Caught Signal 11 server aborting This is bad. Can you send the last 50 lines or so from your Xorg.log in /var/log? I'm curious what was running when the thing choked. In case you don't know what I'm asking, send the results of this command, run as root again: tail -n 50 /var/log/Xorg*.log You may want to look through your other log files to see if there's anything notable in there.
