Well, your X log in /var/log would be good. You may also want to look in your syslog to see what's going on with your internet connection. > Keymap 0: Permission Denied > Keymap 1: Permission Denied > Keymap 2: Permission Denied > KDSKBENT: Operation not permitted > loadkeys: could not deallocate Keymap 3 I'd google for those errors. > Also, (I know, it's turning into a long post :P) in startup, I'm getting > an error when starting Logical Volume Management: Incorrect metadata > header checksum (off the top of my head). *And* there's an awful lot of > text flying past the screen during startup, so I was wondering; is there > a log file or something that I could look at to try to figure out what > the problems are during startup? Are you running LVM? I'm assuming not, so you'll get that message. Most distros throw a lot of random crap in their kernel just in case you use it. dmesg will get you the message before the system logger kicks in. After that, it's be to look in the syslog in /var/log. Chad Martin ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Something is new at Yahoo! Groups.
