I finally got a network card in my ubuntu box. I already have one in the
winDOSE box. However on doze it indicates "a network cable is unplugged,
which I know it is not. The task manager networking tab shows a
non-operational local area connection. And of course my active internet
connection.
I haven't gotten anywhere on ubuntu possibly because of the unplugged
indication in windoze. The "network settings" only shows me, on connections
tab, "modem connection / the interface ppp0 is not configured. There is no
modem in the nix box. Do I need one to make the lan card work??????????
