I have set up additional distros on my hard drive. I frequently
have problems with the re-installation of Grub wiping out the boot to my
old distro. I have tried to protect myself by creating a boot floppy. I
have gone by the directions in "Linux in a Nutshell."
With the boot floppies I have created, I can boot to a Grub
prompt, and then reinstall the distro I want onto the MBR area. But I am
not able to actually do an entire boot from the floppy, and I know I have
done that in the past.
Do you, or anyone else, know how I can create a complete boot
floppy, such that if the MBR area gets changed in a way I don't want, I
can boot solely from the diskette?
