Does that mean that these other distros will be able to install

software as easily as freespire, or does it simply mean that they'll

have a one-stop shop for a large body of applications?

With Ubuntu which is the only distro other than Freespire/ Linspire that CNR
currently works for you install the download client which comes as an ordinary
.deb file.

Then when you click on a link in CNR the client goes to work and installs the
program. However, not all links work with Ubuntu because Linspire has modified
them to work with Linspire/ Freespire. Linspire/ Freespire are Ubuntu
underneath, but they have mad substantial modifications not so much to foil
users but to duplicate the Windows look and feel and to name brand things with
their own name.
