Update - good news! Other than a couple of small installation hiccups I now have Mint working in dual-boot mode with XP. I have also been able to get my wireless connection working (Mint automatically downloaded and installed the proprietary driver once I hard-wire connected my laptop to my router). Back to lurk mode while I test it out. I am sure I will be back with other questions.
