This is making me crazy trying to get dialin to work on rh 5.2. Using
Linuxconf to setup mgetty I get garbage in the log during dialin (PAP
conversation?). It has been suggested that I go back to a patched 2.2.0f
version. I've done that and used the same configs that are working on a 5.0
box.
Now, I get the user authenticated via pap but no further. Seems to fail trying
to bring up the interface but I don't see the errors. It just times out.
Doing the "make kernel" I see that the 2.0.36-3 src has a more recent version
(2.3 I assume) but does that matter?
The users will be Winbloze 95 so I just need simple pap dialup with proxyarp
and dns. If another method of dialup (CSLIP?) is better than I'm all
ears.......
