Not really. Jacques can't reproduce it at all. I can on one system,
but not at will. My time to work on this is limited for the next few
days. if you have spare machine(s) and can come up with a way to
install Linux from scratch and then get to this situation, it would be
most helpful.
I believe it is not directly and obviously linked in a straightforward
way to any of: PAM version, shadowed passwords or not. It may be
linked to exactly what version of Linuxconf one has before 1.13r12,
this needs further study. It seems that ungrading from 1.12r5 or
1.13r8 is safe, upgrade from 1.13r10 is not (or not always?) safe??
That's about all I have discovered so far.
