Well, it seems like I just answered my own question a little bit. I've
just checked out Caldera 2.2 to see what its like. The install guide is
pretty much the easiest to understand (haven't checked out SuSE yet
though). It pretty much gets you to the point where you get X and KDE
working and has a chapter on using KDE, connecting with Dial-up networking
to an ISP. After that is a glossary of Linux terms and then a couple
chapters on system administration (web server, ftp server, mail server,
samba, and DOSemu, and a couple other things). Its hardly complete
documentation, but its got pointers to some more info (of course, it
doesn't do any good if they can't get PPP working with the book's
instructions.
I'll see if I can find anyone around here who has SuSE. I want to
limit it to the best 2 distributions. Of course that means digging in and
trying them all....
