Hello Keny,
I heard good think about Caldera release 2.2, but I
did not see yet the Caldera manual.
What I like about the "Suse" manual, is that it goes
further than a simple installation book, like Redhat
for example.
It really provide good basis for starting with Linux.
<<<
...it doesn't do any good if they can't get PPP
working with the book's instructions.

I think this is a general problem not specific to
every Linux distribution, but also to others O.S.
When something does not work, help from outside is
needed most of the time, (unless the users has already
some knowledge, or a "techy" background or mind).
This is why LUGs are here and should participate to
LDD.
They can be the spare tire in case of a flat tire such
as PPP not working.
It is hard to expect a users that see Linux for the
first time, to read a "man page" or "howto".
First he/she need to understand what it is and how you
proceed to see it on the screen.
LDD and LUGs should be a whole of help for a new user,
not already to familiar with the computer world.
Of course, books are also a part of the learning
process.
Eugene
