Do try out the commands given by Kiran. Before trying it out just go through
"man hdparm" . It says that certain switches that set "DMA MODE" can be a bit
risky & may cause FileSystem corruption in case of incompatible i/o
chipsets .
So ya better go through the docs before making use of ny commands.
The 32bit mode gives the best results on an ULTRA ATA , atleast thats
what PCQ mentions.
