Sometime on Jun 17, Prakash Advani assembled some asciibets to say:

I used the same parameters.  Tried unmasking and multi-sector reads, but
that didn't make any difference, so I stuck with -c1 -d1.  Increased the
transfer rate from 3.92MBps to 7.22MBps.  Not that much of an increase,
but still good.  I have a Seagate 6.4GB ST36422A
