Mail from ILUG-BOM list (Non-Digest Mode)
You can try it, but the standard disclaimer applies;-)
My stats are as follows:
ATA/66 IBM Hardisk 11 MB/s on a motherboard with Ultra ATA/33 support.
ATA/66 IBM Hardisk 17.9 MB/s on a motherboard with Ultra ATA/66
support.
If any one has a hardisk which supports Ultra ATA/66 or even ATA/100 you
need a I/O card like Promise to give you more performance. Or get a
motherboard that supports ATA 66/100. Out of the motherboards in the
market, 810 supports ATA/66 and ASUS BX motherboards. I personally don't
like the 810s.
Does anyone know any other good boards which support ATA/66?
Regards
Prakash
