i couldnt get the default config of RH6.2 work for net access, also my cd
and sound were not working , so compiled the kernel( yup, copying the source
from the cd was a huge pain, specially if u cant access the cd, had to copy
it to win partition and then copy it! :-)
Still, wvdial wont work, but now RP3 or rppp works. BTW, check the modem
init string, most of the time u need to give atx1 for blind dial.
