Do you really think so? Please excuse me while I finish laughing.
I challenge you to take an *adult* [1] with scarce computer experience
and present him/her with a freshly installed copy [2] of Windows and
Linux (choose your distro).
Let's see how friendlier your subject finds Linux against Windows.
I have witnessed such tests at the CHIP test centre, and if the average
user finds your average Red Hat install friendly, I'll eat my cap.
Heck, people get confused when they are asked something as simple as
choosing a hostname for their PC.
Sure, the Microsoft Matrix is not the place we want to be, but haven't
you realised that most of the population isn't ready for the harsh
realities of life outside? Haven't you seen the movie?
[1] Kids tend to be more open to learning than adults. That therefore
makes the test inaccurate.
[2] Most people will never install an OS anyway, so that's no test.
