The issue isn't only about confirming new subscriptions - we need to
validate a request. Like what had happened recently, when somebody
subscribes some second ML to our ML, the automatic confirmations themselves
will start off a never-ending cycle, which can be stopped only by bringing
down one of the two MLs!

.... something like the latch up of an IGBT due to a parasitic SCR :-) ....
