In your bios what are the IDE/SATA settings?

2 days ago I installed Kubuntu 7.10 from a CD, in my laptop that also
has Kubuntu 6.10. It now detects my drives as sda, so that is ok. How is
Kaffeine working in your 7.10? Mine crashes everytime I try to play a
video. Even gxine goes for a toss. Only mplayer works but I cannot
reduce the high contrast and brightness as mplayer does not have the
setting. Another thing I found was that there is no libxine-extracodecs
available for 7.10. I had last installed them on 7.04 at a client's
place and the system installed and is running without any problems on a
Gigabyte 945 and SATA hdd. For 7.10 it is w32codecs.
