In the BIOS there is a setting for SATA or IDE type of disks ( can't
recollect the exact words ) but I remember I had to change the default
setting when loading the 'other' operating system for someone's 945
motherboard. Maybe your CMOS got reset and that's why your disk parameters
needed the change.
