I get the main display on the external monitor, which is what I

My idea in having the laptop as the main display was for
presentations. That way i could setup everything on the laptop (so
people dont see all the other bits i got running) and just put
OpenOffice (or such like) on the projector. As such thought it doesnt
reall bother me as long as i can make something work.
I'm sending you a copy of my config, because it does just that. It will
let you have two resolutions on each display, and will also run a
desktop on each display.

The way it work you launch startx with -- -layout twinview for when you
have an external monitor connected, and you launch startx -- -layout
single when you don't have an external monitor. When you startx one
monitor will have one wm, and the second monitor will have another
desktop, and you can move a mouse between them. You can bump down the
resolution if you want to use it on a projector (xrandr -s 1024x768).
And that's it.
Good luck,
Vadim
