Thanks for your patience. Okay, here's what I do: Run gigedit from a terminal, then open a .gig file. Navigate to the "Filter (1) tab". Check "all regions" against "Changes apply to". The "Velocity dynamic range" value is at 0. Using slider, entry of number into the box or the up arrow, increase "Velocity dynamic range" to 4. Use Ctrl+S or "Save" from the File menu to save the file. Close gigedit using either Ctrl+Q or Quit from the File menu. Start gigedit from the terminal, then open the same .gig file. Navigate to "Filter (1) tab". The value for "Velocity dynamic range" is 0 once more. Interesting. I've just done a bit of fiddling around. Doing the above, but setting the VDR = 3, upon re-opening the file, the VDR is set at 2! Repeating the above, but setting VDR = 2, the value is retained when the file is re-opened. Repeating with VDR = 1, the value is 0 upon re-opening. I have tried this on a single region rather than checking "all regions" and it behaves in the same way. I have tried this with a second gig (another one that I have created) and it behaves in the same way. I haven't tried repeating this with live editing from JSampler, but can do so if you want. The other settings I have on that tab are: Enabled: checked Type: lowpass Cutoff controller: modwheel Controller invert: checked Velocity curve: linear Minimum cutoff: 0 Resonance: 0 Res controller: none Keyboard tracking: unchecked Keytrack breakpoint: 0 I hope this helps -- if you need anything else, just ask.
