Very true about how easy it was for her to just drop out. She obviously let just one thing get in her way, when obviously all the news crew had to do was just call the college and ask if it was okay for her to use the equipment she already had. This girl couldn't even put that much effort into it.

If it hadn't been Ubuntu it would have been something else. Car trouble, job schedule, significant other stress, classes are too hard, teacher is a jerk, etc. Public libraries these days have computers usually. Friends have computers. Parents have computers. People throw away computers when they upgrade. She obviously didn't try that hard. Geeks in my experience trip over themselves to help just about any girl that asks for it. But the Dell rep certainly didn't do here any service by saying she should stick with Ubuntu when she didn't know what it was. We can't know the full conversation he/she had with here though. -- John. _______________________________________________ LinuxUsers mailing list [email protected] http://socallinux.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linuxusers
