Did you mean to post something else? The above is nothing to do with
Clearwire.

The above is old news. That said, yes, Clearwire is out of money.

I keep seeing that. I never see the justification. Can you point to
something?

Couldn't they do the same with WiMax if they did it themselves? I agree it
looks like they're going to abandon WiMax, but I don't see the reason.

Note: My netbook runs fast enough on 3G (the "mifi" device) for the few times
I need to use it. My only interest in 4G would be to replace my wired
connection at home, and I can only do that with either unlimited or a cap of
minimum of a few hundred GB. So far Sprint is the only company doing that,
and only with 4G.

Nevertheless, I'd have to pay a fee to leave Sprint before January, and a fee
to leave Charter Cable (my landline Internet provider) before January, so I'm
perfectly willing to wait at least until then.

And since I've decided I need to keep a netbook for on-the-road server-logins,
I don't even need a smartphone anymore.

At almost 67 I may be the oldest member of our group, and I may look at all of
this with a very different eye than most of us, but that's my take.
