And features.  I'd love to find a different MUA (client) besides KMail that 
uses Maildir.  While I certainly know who designed Maildir, and his reputation 
for thinking outside the RFCs, I simply believe that with Maildir he got it 
right.

(Dan Bernstein, by the way; the guy also responsible for qmail, which I hate 
about as much as I love Maildir.)

That's almost exactly me; my desktop computer needs to just work so I can just 
work on the servers I'm paid to maintain, and the ones I need to maintain so I 
can host my customers.

I really don't care about Software Center vs Synaptic; I just don't like 
change which requires relearning.
