I'm tempted to say never, as far as I can remember. But that got me in trouble before... I think it's a bit symbolic, if the kit only provide space for LED but not battery and switch. Nevertheless it's a nice symbolic move, instead of pushing ever into "a monkey could snap this kit together" direction, Bandai is acknowledging that they could do a bit more to help the lazy modders. The double stand is also interesting that it's a gimmick that works with another kit, something that seems to be forgotten since the early days of gunpla. I'm pretty sure I would cut the stand into two independent stands. Mounting one MS so intimately behind another MS just seems a bit lewd. Likewise for Triple Dom's combo-stand. > I wonder if kits like Hyaku-Shiki should be consideried 2-step > processed coating... one for the silvery plating and one for the > yellow overcoating. Are you sure that's how they make the gold plating on Type-100 and Akatsuki etc? Anyhow any kind of plating on plastic product is inherently a many-many-step process. Presumably Bandai is marketing this new Quebeley as something novel, above and beyond the existing plated kits, EF's and EHM's. Time will tell how novel it really is. Wave and Hasegawa keep releasing new robot kits, I said several times in the past that they should (hopefully) be lighting a fire under Bandai's butt. I would say I am starting to see Bandai responding with various tricks. Cranking out 5 new HGUC (not counting recolors and minor/major variants) and 1 new MG in 5 months is one trick, cranking out rerecolors like Quebeley Special Coating is another trick. > > Based on what? I'm asking if they really picked up SOME info, or it was similar to the regular wishful thinking threads we have here, e.g. HGUC ZZ. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
