Yep, you are exactly right, and here is the deep divergence between
your and my interpretations.

Well fine, personal relationship issues and vendetta do come into play
in a war.  A love-crazed person or one who feel mistreated/betrayed
may take a course of action that seem irrational or wrong, but they
don't switch allegiance (sacrifice their own lives in some cases) to
the enemy movement.

First, you do realize you used "vendetta" at least 4 times out of your past 10 posts? how much did Natalie Portman paid you?? :-)

Of course it comes into play, but I'm saying in Zeta personal matter is all Tomino tried to delivery as their initial purpose of defection. How one's selfish act change good to evil (Reccoa) or the other way around (Camille) is a thing that's driven by history (story line).

A heartbroken man in 1940s Japan may steal a gun and shoot his dream
girl and/or her boyfriend/parents/classmates and/or himself, but he
wouldn't be flying an escort mission for Enola Gay to nuke his home
country, right?

In Zeta, there was a nuke attack, a colony drop, a colony laser
firing, a asteroid ramming.  These are not like an angry kid stealing
a Gundam and killing a few people (Columbine High School).  People who
participate in these actions must have made a moral decision to
justify killing thousand or millions of lives.  It's more like Monica
Lewinsky got pissed off about Bill Clinton and help bomb the World
Trade Center, or Michael Brown got pissed off about W Bush and join a
Neo Orleans Black Panther movement.

Sounds ridiculous?  Yes!  That's exactly why I buy Zeta merchandise
but couldn't get into the story/characters.

Again, back to my list. The only one who's actually doing what you said is Reccoa -- again don't make it sounds like it happened often.

To respond: Katejina.

Here I must mention FMA.  [SPOILER ALERT]  FMA also invoke wars and
mass murders, but the writer(s) did a good job on moral questions and
sometimes even manipulated the audience to approve of the mass murders
or sympathize or  understand individuals who participated in war and
mass murder.

Ahem, yes his name was Addis, read the post you replied to.

I'd check MAHQ to see what this Addis was refering to. My bad.
