Probably, no gundam knowledge is required or indeed will be gained by playing the game. This game must have been an attempt to break a gundam game out into wider audiences. But if that was they case, they should have realized the game would look poorly next to all the other rpgs out there.

It's an rpg from the late 90's. A big overworld to travel across (the map is actually the planet earth), lots and lots of random battles, featureless dungeons, classic turn-based battles...

The other annoying thing is that while gundam games in america are usually $40, this one is $50. At $29.95 MS Saga would have looked a lot better.
