I've wondered about that aversion to supply and demand as well.  Sometimes the various companies really do great things with their toys and other products (mooks) and such that I find so cool and I'm willing to spend $50, $80, $110 for.  I bought a book called the Anaheim Journal http://www.animenation.com/475771663x.html which is maybe the single coolest Gundam related purchase I've ever made - a fake 100th edition of the "Anaheim Journal" that pretends that the Gundam universe is real, down to fake ads in the magazine, news items about Earth and the space colonies, a complete rundown on the Anaheim Electronics company (the list of divisions and employees is amazing), even a pull-out application for an AE credit card!  Also has what seems to be a pamphlet that you'd find on a shuttle (Moon to Earth to Sides) that diagrams the seating arrangement of the shuttle and a layout of the lunar city you're going to end up landing at.  I'd buy as many products like that as could be made.  I would get a real credit card that said it was from AE, regardless of the interest rate. On the other hand, I notice that periodically there will be a new run of Macross Valkyries in new scales (1/60th, 1/48th) which are really well done but that's all you get.  They're hard to find?  Why?  Some guys I know were trying to buy one or two of *each* of the expensive 1/48th versions (I got a Folker one and also a FAST pack upgrade).  But all you get is the Rick version, the skull squadron version, the trainer, maybe the standard brown one.  No Destroids!!  WTF?  Neither of the alien armor suits, no Glaugs, it's like they hate money!  It would be *so* cool for them to come out with all the key suits and mecha in the same scale and also sell a cool diorama of a repair bay or launch bay or something. I want someone at those companies to explain to me why it takes so long to come out with really cool products and sometimes no amount of time produces anything except more model kits or mooks.  I really wanted one of those digital cameras someone mentioned years ago that were made to look like Federation and Zion binoculars.  Anything that sells out, make another batch of them!  I can't believe they don't realize this.
