The nuclear warheads were discovered in one of the Mountain Cycles. One was
blown up by Gavin Gooney. Loran took the remainder and stowed them in the
chest of the Turn A Gundam so that he could take them to space and dispose
of them there.

Episode 28: Entrusted Things
Review by Chris

July 1, 2002

Loran uses the Turn A's sensors to scan the enormous crater created by the
nuclear explosion. As Sochie stares at the crater, Loran explains to her and
Miashei that they can't leave the Kapool. Sochie asks how long the area will
be polluted, and Loran says it will kill all life for a very long time. Out
of nowhere, Loran suggests to Sochie that she should go to the Soleil. At
the Soleil, Pou and Phil discuss how the nuclear bombs could change the
balance of power in the war. Phil wants the bombs and orders Pou to find
them. She takes off in a flight booster equipped SUMO and heads for the
crater. Aims and John survey the damage near the crater, and Aims cries over
Gavane's death. Ralfa wakes up and finds that only he and another WaD pilot
named Leia survived the blast. He sees that his WaD is holding two nuclear
bombs and remembers that he grabbed it to prevent the Militia from getting
it. Leia spots Borjarnons nearby, and Ralfa decides to retreat. As they run
away, Pou flies by overhead and spots them. Leia accidentally mentions the
nuclear bombs, and Pou demands that Ralfa hand them over. Ralfa refuses and
runs away. Pou shoots at Ralfa, and Leia is knocked away while trying to
stop Pou. After Ralfa escapes, Leia yells at Pou and Pou realizes it was
careless to shoot at Ralfa while he had the bombs. As Ralfa runs he spots
the Turn A and Kapool. Sochie wants to attack, and Miashei tells him to go
away when she sees the bombs. Ralfa asks for their help and runs away when
Pou's SUMO approaches. The Turn A and Kapool run towards the SUMO, and Pou
panics and escapes. Loran tells Ralfa he is willing to die if he can get to
Dianna and stop the war. Ralfa volunteers to do that and says he has lost
the will to be a soldier after seeing terrible weapons like nuclear bombs.
He gives Loran the bombs and tells him to bury them in a mountain or toss
them in the ocean. Loran places the bombs in the Turn A's multipurpose chest
silo and packs them together with dirt to prevent them from moving around.

On the Soleil, Phil explains that if they have the nuclear bombs they can
easily beat the Militia. Dianna says those weapons could recreate the dark
history, and he says he is tired of her weakness and hesitance. She asks him
what he would do if he were in her place, and he says he would fight all of
the Earth to create a nation for the Moonrace. In the next room, Kihel
listens in to the conversation. Phil says that if they don't stop hesitating
that they'll never find out what Agrippa wants and will lose to him. Dianna
tells Miran to have Phil killed. Ralfa, Sochie and Miashei approach the
Soleil and are ordered to stop by a squad of WaDoms and WaDs. They ask Ralfa
why he brought the enemy with him, and he explains that he's bringing them
as Earth representatives to speak to Dianna and stop the war. When Sochie
moves the Kapool forward, the WaDs attack. Ralfa gets in the way and starts
fighting off the WaDs. Kihel sees Sochie from a window, and Harry comes into
the room and grabs her. Dianna runs to see the battle, and Phil pulls a gun
on her. Harry and Kihel run out behind Phil, and Dianna makes it seem like
she is Kihel. Kihel is placed in a transport shuttle while Harry gets into
his SUMO. As Kihel flies by the battle, she tells Sochie to escape quickly.
Kihel tells Harry they have to go to Zacktraeger so they can go to the Moon
and confront Agrippa. Ralfa escapes the grip of a WaDom and keeps fighting
off the WaDs. He pushes the Kapool to gets it to move. Sochie and Miashei
run off, and Ralfa's WaD breaks down and collapses. He says that using
nuclear bombs will recreate the dark history and dies. Joseph shows up with
his FLAT and helps Sochie and Miashei escape. Elsewhere, Loran remembers
Guin telling him that whoever finds the super weapon of the dark history
will win the war. Loran now has that weapon, but he knows he can't give it
to either side. Fran and several soldiers arrive to meet with Joseph. The
soldiers tell Joseph that they intercepted Moonrace communications and that
the Willgem will travel across the ocean to a place called Manupichi.

Quite a lot of things happen this time. After the fallout from the nuclear
explosion, everyone seems to want to get their hands on nuclear weapons.
Neither side seems to really understand how horrible nuclear weapons are,
despite seeing evidence firsthand. Phil seems to be more and more of a
power-crazed madman who will destroy anything to accomplish what he wants.
He says treasonous things to Dianna and follows up on his remarks by
rebelling against her. Phil seems to have the support of Dianna Counter, so
Dianna is technically a prisoner among her own people. The Willgem seems to
be setting out for a voyage to Manupichi, and I'll bet that's somehow
connected with Zacktraeger.

The Cow was from an episode where Loran was bringing a cow to a Moon race
family that needs the milk for their baby.

Episode 8: Laura's Cow
Review by Chris

June 4, 2002

The airship docks outside of Guin's home, and Sochie disembarks. Kihel asks
how their mother is doing, and Sochie says maybe she is better the way she
is instead of knowing that her daughter is negotiating with her father's
killers. Kihel says she wants peace, and Sochie yells at her and says she
will do things her own way in the Militia. Sochie gives a battle report to
Guin, and he orders Loran to move out with the Turn A and patrol outside of
Vicinity. Loran says no one is fighting now because they're looking for
assassins, but Guin says he wants Loran to defend their territory from
activists. Loran and Sochie leave, and Guin wonders about Dianna. Kihel says
that despite their looking alike, she thinks Dianna is probably a good
person. He asks what she thinks about Loran, and she says he is an honest
kid. Guin says that for someone hiding a secret he tries to be very honest.
Sochie wants Loran to teach her how to use the Turn A, but he says he
doesn't know enough himself to teach her. He says he doesn't want her
fighting, and she yells at him and says he doesn't understand anything about
what happened to her father. Nearby, farmers try to fight off a Rib that is
building a fence around a Moonrace civilian area. A Moonrace civilian named
Guman tries to convince both sides to stop, and he gets butted with a rifle.
Loran shows up with the Turn A and pushes the Rib away. Fran sees him and
starts taking pictures. Civilians approach her and ask her to explain the
truth to people. Keith delivers bread and gets more orders. He sees Guman
arguing with soldiers and get butted again with a rifle. Loran, Sochie, Fran
and Keith sit down for lunch, and Sochie thinks they are being secretive. On
the Soleil, Pou thinks Guin is suspicious and asks Phil for permission to
take some WaDs out. Later, Loran asks Sochie to help Guman's sick baby, and
she says she doesn't care if it dies in its sleep. She hates the Moonrace
and doesn't want to help any of them. Loran and Guman ride on a bicycle so
they can get food since the Moonrace army won't give him any.

At an abandoned farm, Sochie catches some chickens while Fran gets a little
piglet. Keith explores a barn and is attacked by bees. Sochie asks Fran
where they came from, and she explains that they moved to the area two years
ago. Sochie asks about Loran and says he is too secretive and won't tell her
anything. Fran says that he and Keith both have a crush on a certain girl. A
big mother pig shows up and starts slamming into the truck because Fran has
the piglet. Loran and Guman explore an abandoned farm and find some corn.
Guman wonders why the place is empty, and Loran tells him people are
frightened from attacks by the Dianna Counter forces. Guman says that on the
Moon he was so excited about coming down to the Earth and just wants to
survive. Guman spots a big cow and wants to get it, but he and Loran alone
are not enough. Loran decides to move the cow with the Turn A. He sees that
Sochie and Fran are in trouble and grabs the pig. Once everything is in
order, the truck and the Turn A head back to the camp. Pou's WaDs spot them
and move in to attack. The truck speeds off, and Loran knocks away the WaDs
trying to get to the truck. Pou manages to grab the truck and says she will
let it go if Loran surrenders. Loran knows if he surrenders that Pou will
discover Sochie is a Militia soldier. Harry drives up in a car and tells Pou
to stop fighting. He says Dianna has ordered no one to fight while the
search is on for the assassins. Pou leaves, and Guman thanks Harry for his
help. Harry promises to report to Dianna about their food shortage. When
they return to the camp, Loran sees a group of locals protesting. The accuse
the Moonrace civilians of stealing their food and tell them to go to hell.
Loran is frustrated and says that everyone is a human and they should work
for the sake of their children. They accuse him of being a spy, and he
becomes angry. Keith suspects he is about to say something and tells him not
to say it. Loran admits that he is of the Moonrace and shocks everyone. He
says he will fight anyone who doesn't cherish human life. Afterwards, Sochie
slaps him and says he is too cocky.

While this episode could be constituted as filler, it has quite a bit of
important character developments. We see that Sochie's mind is clouded by
the death of Diran, so she sees things very subjectively. She accuses Kihel
of helping the Moonrace, and her hatred is very evident when she is with
Guman's baby. She is so blinded that she says such a horrible thing about
hoping that Guman's baby dies. That's some deep hatred. With Guman and his
family we get to see the human side of the Moonrace, but it's clear that
Earth locals don't care about his struggles and blame him along with the
soldiers from their problems. Sadly, this is always the case in any human
struggle where people are reduced down to simply to 'friend' or 'enemy'.
This is why Loran feels helpless and reveals his identity to make people
understand each other. Too bad it doesn't work in Sochie's case.
