Thanks for the reminder. My memory of all the facts is very
unreliable and fractured, but your and Boaz's posts pretty confirmed
every impressions I had about Turn-A and nuclear weapon in the story.
I am starting to feel an itch to re-watch it. Especially if it comes
out in US.

Also very importantly, all the other fractions (notably Phil) were
trying to obtain and control the bombs but no one (except Corin and
Gym) seem to consider Turn-A itself to be a war-winning strategic
weapon. In particular, the nukes doesn't need a Turn-A's launch-tube
to realize its full power. (the dialogs in episode 28 were true but
in fact misleading: dark history was triggered (or concluded?) by
Moonlight Butterfly not nuclear bombs)

Likewise, a cow can be transported in many different vehicles. Turn-A
happens to have a "multi-purpose silo" (the term used by Chris in the
synopsis/review) but I wouldn't call it a cow-launch tube just yet.

I will try to argue, not from technical or factual positions (Boaz's
"one size doesn't fits all" seems pretty much ironclad), but from a
artistic design or story-telling POV. TAG was responsible for
"destruction of Earth" with its Moonlight Butterfly. Adding nuclear
missile launch tubes to such an ultimate weapon seems a bit redundant.
One would think, if MB was the "Ultimate Attack" that itself would
make up a conspicuous part of the whole MS (compared to: GP02A's
nuclear bazooka and blast shield are prominent features of the
design). TAG has melee capability since, I guess, it needs to take
care of itself without escort. As any escort would be destroyed by
activating the MB. The over-powered beam rifle still makes no sense
to me. Also the fact that no one seems too concerned about seizing
control of TAG and repairing or replacing the rifle.

So my guess is: the so-called multi-purpose silos are in fact the
Moonlight Butterfly device. And since the MB is based on
nanomachines, other uses can be improvised, including launching
nuclear missiles. But from a functional point of view, it's just as
well a mobile cow stall or giant laundry machine.
