As mentioned, spoilers.

Relationships (romantic and otherwise) are prominent in this episode.

1.)  It crossed my mind early in this episode that Graham and his Intelligence Officer friend seemed to be awfully close, and the comment from the Intelligence Officer later in the episode made it pretty blatant.  I'm not entirely ruling out the idea that the comment was merely a poorly translated joke, but until I see something to indicate otherwise it appears that the two are an item.

2.)  Back in episode 1, I got the impression that the Ptolemaius's (sp?) captain seemed to have an interest in Tiere (sp?), and her invitation to him in this episode reinforced that impression.  It seems that he doesn't feel the same way about her, however.

3.)  The two kids in school spend a lot of time together and appear to be attracted to each other, but aren't "officially" a couple.

4.)  We finally see how the kids are involved in the story.  The boy is the son of the female JNN reporter, and happens to be Setsuna's next-door-neighbor (question - How long has Setsuna had that apartment as a residence?  And how long will he be staying there?).

A couple of comments about drinks for the young in this episode.

Graham demonstrates that in the hands of a skilled pilot, the current top of the line mobile suits are actually capable of evading the Exia to a certain extent.  Col. Sergei's mobile suit didn't seem to be nearly as maneuverable, but he was fairly resourceful.  He still shouldn't have been able to survive Setsuna's slice, though.  The fact that Setsuna got the leg and not the cockpit was blind luck (no pun intended) for the Colonel.

While not stated, I'm guessing that the warhead carrier that the technicians were carrying was from Khyrios, and was dropped after the mobile suit released the warheads on its bombing run.

The old scientist that is a part of the Union team appears to have known the 200 year old guy that acted as CB's spokesperson.  The sub I have had the old scientist accuse CB's spokesperson of some sort of deceit 70 years prior.

Speculation...  It was stated that CB's spokesperson came up with the theories behind the solar power system.  I'm guessing that CB is something that he created that's been out of sight waiting until the nations of the world finally built the solar power system.  Presumeably that would create the right sort of condition for CB to do exactly what it's now doing.  So in a sense, this is all the spokesman's plan even if he's no longer still running the show.

It looks like we're finally going to meet the HRA's ace next episode.
