Apologies in advance for the cross-posting but there are apparently
still many people who do not subscribe to every list in existence.

I'd like to put a little perspective on all this discussion about
draft policies for comment.

Way back last fall, we were told by ICANN that they a few top
priorities to accomplish and it would be a challenge to get those
three actioned.

I was wondering, as we ramp up to the Singapore meeting, how many of
the 3 have been accomplished?

I know the answer is less than three, and yes, this is a bit of a
rhetorical question.

Given this, I find it surprising that ICANN is moving ahead so rapidly
on other topics that were not even mentioned in the top three.

Would Esther or Mike care to comment on this?

In the interest of disclosure I would like to state that I am a member
of the Membership Advisory Committee. I am very happy with the
progress of the MAC and fully support our decision to have a report
ready just in time for the Singapore meeting. Given that membership
was one of the three priorities (also one of the things NTIA insisted
on) and given my position I wanted to make it clear that I am not in
any way complaining about the progress towards at-large membership.
In fact I am very happy with the work we have done. Just wondering
why we are doing so many other things before the priorities are
covered.
